Ordinary Days by Adam Gwon
4 to 9 December 2023
Evenings at 7:45pm.
2:30pm matinee on Saturday 9 December.
Ordinary Days is a refreshingly honest and funny musical about making real connections in the city that never sleeps (but probably should at some point).
Here’s what a first night audience member told us: “A small theatre with a big heart. I went along to The Green Room Theatre on a very wet and miserable Monday evening to watch “ordinary days”. I came out feeling so upbeat and pleased to know that such talent can be found on my doorstep. “Ordinary Days” was cast so well. Toby Harris playing Warren was wonderful. I can imagine him playing Arnold Cunningham (Book of Mormon). Eilidh Pollard was perfect for the part of Deb. Her comic timing and facial expressions were hilarious. That said I could well imagine her playing a serious role just a well. Natalie Clarke and Colin Rice made a convincing couple as Jason and Claire. The final scene was magical and I almost forget where I was. This show has everything it’s simple, beautiful, and shows how small acts and interactions can change lives. This extraordinary musical is a must-see. Shout out also to the incredible pianist!”
Ordinary Days tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfillment, happiness, love and cabs. Through a score of vibrant and memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. Ordinary Days is an original musical for anyone who’s ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex place. With equal doses of humour and poignancy, it celebrates how 8.3 million individual stories combine in unexpected ways to make New York City such a unique and extraordinary home.
