For many years, as you will recall, the Green Room was able to produce a number of Shakespeare’s plays at Gawsworth Open Air Theatre. And on occasion has staged productions in the Green Room Theatre itself. In March, you will be able to see Two Gentlemen of Verona, believed to be perhaps the very first play of Shakespeare’s to be staged ever. Written around 1590, and influenced by a Spanish romance that was known at the time, the story is of two good friends whose comradeship goes through several challenges, as they find their loyalties and relationships tested. There are fallings-out; there are bandits; there are disguises, misunderstandings, and confusions.
